I've decided to do this every Friday. A quick recap of the week in the Georgia sports teams that I give a damn about and upcoming events. It'll help me keep up with it, and hopefully you'll find something of interest.
UGA Football
Currently wrapping up the 3rd of 4 weeks of spring practice. G-Day, Sanford Stadium, 4/5/08 @ 2 pm. Next Opponent: Opening day vs. Georgia Southern in 156 days.
UGA Basketball
One and done in the NCAA tourney. Recruiting news here.
UGA Baseball
Finished the week 3-2 winning 2 out of 3 vs Tennessee and splitting a pair with Kennesaw State. Opens a 3 game series with Miss. St. in Starkville today @ 7:30 pm. Overall record 13-9, 4-2 SEC
Atlanta Braves
Opening day @ Washington Nationals on 3/30. Home opener vs Pittsburg on 4/1.
Atlanta Hawks
Currently holding a 1/2 game lead over New Jersey for the 8th and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Finished last week 2-1 with wins over Orlando and Milwaukee at home and a loss @ Chicago. Upcoming games: Today vs Chicago, 3/30 vs New York, 3/31 @ Memphis
Atlanta Thrashers
Officially eliminated from playoff contention after going 2-7-1 in their last 10. Upcoming games: Today @ Carolina, 3/31 @ Tampa Bay, 4/1 @ Florida
Atlanta Falcons
Upcoming events: NFL Draft, April 26-27. Michael Vick parole date....TBA
